What’s the Ideal Temperature for a Heat Pump

I’ve been training a few new techs on heat pumps, and one question always comes up: what’s the ideal temperature for optimum efficiency? I usually say 18°C (about 65°F) is a sweet spot, but I’m curious if anyone has found different figures work better in certain climates or applications. It’s fascinating how this can vary.
