Tips for Diagnosing Refrigerant Leaks

Refrigerant leaks can be tricky, but I’ve had some success using a simple bubble solution to pinpoint issues during service calls. Just mix dish soap with water and spray it on suspected areas. If you see bubbles forming, you know you’ve found a leak. I’d love to hear what methods others are using to diagnose leaks — any other hands-on approaches that have worked for you?

I totally agree with using the bubble solution! I’ve found that adding a bit of food coloring to the mix can help see the bubbles even better in certain light. Any chance you’ve ever tried that, or do you prefer to keep it simple?
