Had a customer yell at me last week because we adjusted their thermostat to save energy when they weren’t home. They claimed their home felt like a ‘meat locker’ and that I was ruining their winter vibes. Just goes to show how delicate the balance is between energy savings and customer satisfaction! Anyone else have wild thermostat stories?
You hit the nail on the head — > the balance is tough. I’ve had a client flip out over a ‘meat locker’ vibe too, but we found success by setting a schedule that meets them halfway. Maybe if you explain how the energy savings work, they’ll be more on board?
And i get it, the ‘meat locker’ complaint is real! I’ve found that explaining the energy savings on a bill in the long run helps soften the blow. Maybe a quick follow-up call would help them adjust to the new settings and feel heard?
But it’s always tricky to find that sweet spot, right? I try to include a quick demo of how different settings impact comfort and efficiency during my visits. Maybe a short follow-up to address their concerns could help ease the tension, @scobake?
